Ariana's CVS Story
My story started when I was 28 years old. I was at home with my then live in boyfriend and it was a normal Saturday. I remember turning to him and saying I was going to be sick about 20 seconds before I projectile vomited all over my house and porch. That was the beginning of the end for me. I remember I had this doom feeling that I wasn't going to get better even though everyone kept telling me I had food poisoning and it would go away. But it didn't, it started getting to the point where I was so weak from lack of potassium that I was pushing the air to walk. My boyfriend had been begging me to go to the hospital for 2 weeks at this point, but I kept refusing to go. Finally, I fell out and could not pick myself up and something inside me said if I didn’t go I was going to die. The ER doctor was not sure how I hadn’t had a heart attack yet or why I was even able to talk or breathe. He began pumping me with potassium and hydration and I fought it every step of the way. At this point I have not slept in about 2 weeks and was delirious, I had been watching ID Discovery (bad Idea) and had seen an episode where a nurse was killing patients with potassium chloride and I freaked out and checked myself out of the hospital only to end up back there twice the next day. I am not able to take ANY pain killers so I have been pretty lucky with Hospitals I refuse the meds so they don't accuse me of seeking drugs but they tell me I am anorexic and bulimic, so I avoid them at all cost. Finally, this year 2 weeks before my 31st birthday I found a doctor who had answers. He put me on amitriptyline and now I have a life I never thought I would have. Keep fighting warriors!
